General point of interest ----------- The launch of Series 3 E type Jaguar in 1971 with the V12 Jaguar engine offers outstanding power and refinement. With an all aluminium constructed engine which uses a single overhead camshaft per bank of six cylinders operating in line values working in a flat cylinder head arrangement. The cylinder banks for the V12 engine are arranged at a 60 degree angle and each cam shaft is chain driven with the longest single chain ever supplied for a production engine at an amazing 5 feet & 6 inchs or 1.68 meters.
