| XK120 The legendary XK120 aptly named so by Sir Williams Lyons because of its advertised top speed of 120 mph courtesy of the famously powered 6 cylinder engine which would continue to be used in all other Jaguar models until 1986. The X was because the engine was experimental and K was the sequence. The car was originally launched in 1948 at the Earls Court Motor Show and caused an absolute sensation. Originally the factory was only geared up for low volume production, but this magnificent car overwhelmed all their original anticipations, thus changing the direction of production from Aluminium (239 built in total) to metal. Lanes are introducing to the Jaguar world a new era in buying a classic car, being unveiled at the show will be a complete body & chassis unit of an XK model which has been built in Aluminium and is an absolute recreation of the original in every way possible. The new body and chassis
will be on display on our stand XK60 at Goodwood and
you will be able to view the recreation of the XK120 which is
a beautiful piece of engineering first hand, and will be
available only from Lanes Cars. The recreated XK body or
chassis you take delivery of will enable you the opportunity
of experiencing a classic time in Jaguars history from 1948,
but completely new in every way! Experience for yourself
time standing still, and be swept away by the XK design.
